SCSD Welcomes 17 Members to New Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council

Simpson County School District (SCSD) welcomed 17 student representatives to its new Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council on Wednesday, May 25.

Comprising two to four students from seven of the district’s schools, the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council was created to provide students a platform to share feedback, experiences and perspectives on a variety of issues affecting their schools and peers.

SCSD hosted the council at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson for their first meeting. During the meeting, students discussed their school experiences and provided suggestions for improvement. They also had an opportunity to tour the Co-Lin campus, learn more about its career and technical education programs, and meet with Co-Lin’s executive vice president Dr. Dewayne Middleton.
