The Magee Police Department continues its commitment to professional development and community safety with two additional officers completing specialized training.
Corporal Vance Hamilton and Corporal Joseph McNair recently graduated from Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training, increasing the number of CIT-certified officers serving the City of Magee.
Crisis Intervention Team training provides law enforcement officers with valuable skills to recognize individuals experiencing mental health crises, de-escalate potentially dangerous situations, and help connect those individuals with appropriate resources and assistance.
The training emphasizes communication, understanding, and safe responses when dealing with individuals who may be experiencing emotional or mental health challenges.
Magee Police Chief Denis J. Borges praised the officers for their dedication to continued education and improving their ability to serve the community.
“The more we train, the better we serve,” stated Chief Borges.
