LAUREL, Miss. – August 5, 2026 – South Central Regional Medical Center proudly announces the addition of Gary Thomas “Sonny” Hodge, II, MD, to the medical staff at South Central Sports Medicine.
Dr. Hodge is a Taylorsville native and former Jones College student-athlete. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 2019. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at UAB Medicine St. Vincent’s East in Birmingham, Alabama, in 2022. Dr. Hodge then pursued a fellowship at Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in 2023. He now joins the medical staff at South Central Sports Medicine.
“It is an honor to return to the area to serve the community that raised me,” Dr. Hodge said. “I am looking forward to joining the talented medical staff at South Central and to treating athletes and other patients from across the Pine Belt.”
Dr. Hodge joins the staff at South Central Sports Medicine, where he will work alongside Thomas Baylis, MD; Jeff Burns, MD; Daniel McCallum Sr., MD;
William A. Morrison, MD; Ashley Brooks, FNP; and Chad Caraway, NP.
