The fun begins at 6:00 p.m. as Main Street fills with honking horns, polished vehicles, pickup trucks, and maybe even a few sunroofs open to the evening air. Organizers are encouraging everyone to come out and enjoy a night of community, memories, and old-fashioned fun.

The event is inspired by the days when local teenagers would spend Saturday nights doing what was known as “riding the block.” Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, cars would circle through town for hours as friends visited, laughed, listened to music, and enjoyed being together.

Many longtime residents will remember cruising past the old Community House area, where conversations, friendships, and sometimes even romances began. Riding the block was more than just driving around—it was a social event and a treasured part of growing up in Magee.

One thing is certain: everyone seems to have a story about riding the block. Ask around, and you’ll hear plenty of memories about favorite cars, first dates, and unforgettable Saturday nights.

So shine up that ride, gather your friends, and come make some new memories while celebrating a tradition that has been part of Magee’s history for generations.

“Thug Hill” will be filed with food trucks!…come and enjoy!
