Wesley Lee Thornton, 44 of Magee, MS passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.
He was born Tuesday, September 16, 1980 in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee in 302 Eighth Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 05, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee in Magee, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, MS. Bro. Gary Roberts will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
Wesley graduated from Magee High School. He then attended Co-Lin Junior College in Wesson where he graduated with a machinist degree. Wesley was a welder and a mechanic. He loved woodworking and in addition to his many other talents, Wesley was an amazing carpenter. He could build many things. Wesley was a very caring person and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Thomas Thornton.
Survivors include his son, Ethan James Thornton; daughters, Brooklyn Skyye Thornton and Aubreigh Madison Thornton; father, Thomas O. Thornton (Delia) of Mize, MS; mother, Peggy J. Thornton of Magee, MS; sisters, Amy Marie Greene (Duane), Marcia Bartran (Scott) and Beth Moore (Steve).
Pallbearers will be James Garner, James Brandy Newson Jr., Cory Martin, Charles Meadows, Steve Moore, and Scott Bartran.
