At the collection event it was reported that about three gallons of sensitive prescription drugs were safely disposed of. Monday morning the Simpson County Board of Supervisors met to consider bids for roadwork to be commenced on Hopewell Road. The county estimated the project cost at just over $145,000.  Eight construction companies placed a bid for the project and most valued the cost of the project below the county’s estimate. Oddee Smith Construction was the low bidder at $125,334.83, and was awarded the project. The bid was 13.7% below the county estimate.

Oddee Smith expects the project to take about 25 working days to be completed, and expects to start in July when the weather will better cooperate with the project.
