Peggy Askew Herrington, age 91 passed away on March 7, 2022, at MS Care Center in Raleigh, MS.
Peggy was born on May 14, 1930, in Marion County.  She graduated from Columbia High School in 1948, she continued her education with graduation from Gilfoy School of Nursing in 1951.  Most of her nursing career of forty-one years was with the Sanatorium and Simpson County Health Department.  Her children describe her as the perfect mother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Cecil Herrington and brother, Harold Askew.
She is survived by her children, Bernie Herrington, Cecilia Waters and Dale Herrington (Karen) all of Magee, MS; six grandchildren, Becky Ennis (Steve), Jade Herrington (Jenny), Kim Gibson (Michael), Brandon Waters (Carey), Sam Herrington (Kellie), Mekayla Bryant (Austin); nine great-grandchildren with twin great-grandboys and one great-great granddaughter due later this year.
Visitation will be held at Siloam Baptist Church Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The graveside service will be at 11:00 am with Bro. Raymond Jeffcoat officiating.
Pallbearers are Hilmer Bynum, Steve Ennis, Jade Herrington, Landon Herrington,
Sam Herrington,
Brandon Waters.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
