Otha Lloyd Shivers, Sr. Obituary

Otha Lloyd Shivers, Sr. was born on April 19, 1943. He died peacefully on April 16, 2026 at the age of 82.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Ruth Shivers, and siblings Audean Marshall, Denone Copeland, and Wayne Shivers.

He was a graduate of Holmes Jr. College and the Respiratory Therapy Program at Baptist Hospital. He was a 30 year veteran of the United States Air Force, working in hospitals around the world.

He married Anne Marie Martin, his high school sweetheart in 1965. They had two children: Michelle Shivers Whitehead (Nolen) and Otha, Jr. (Jay)(Libby Hegwood). He will be missed by his grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua (Grace Diffey), Caleb, and Hannah, and his great-granddaughter, Katherine (Joshua and Grace).

The funeral will be held at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland on Monday, April 20th at 1:00. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00. A separate service will be held graveside at Rocky Hill Cemetery in the Cameron Community at 3:30 with Military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in honor of Otha L. Shivers, Sr. to Tunnel to Towers foundation (T2T “In Memory of” pate) or Guiding Eyes for the Blind (via the Guiding Eyes tribute page).
