Rita Sue Raines passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at her residence. She was born on July 24, 1964, to Lewis Traylor and Rita Ann Gregory in Mendenhall, MS.
Rita enjoyed just being home. She enjoyed walking around her yard and enjoying her flowers. This was her peaceful place. More than anything else, she loved her family. Her grandchildren were her world! They will deeply miss her and the love they shared.
Rita was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Traylor.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Raines; her mother, Rita Ann Traylor; son, Michael Raines (Kelli) of Pelahatchie, MS; daughter Christina Gardner (Billy) of Terry, MS; brother Tommy Traylor of Braxton, MS; sisters, Joy Pope and Mary Arthur of Braxton, MS and five grandchildren, Abby Raines, Emma Raines, Amelia Raines, Ashley Gardner and Jase Gardner.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Braxton, MS at 4:00 PM with visitation prior to the service from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Bro. Jonathan Burnham and Bro. Steele Cockrell will officiate the service with interment following in Holly Grove Cemetery.
