At approximately 5:30 a.m., the Magee Police Department received a call regarding a vehicle broken down with flashers on, located on Highway 49 North near Austin Storage. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the driver, Melvin Wiggins Jr., who was found slumped over in the driver’s seat. As officers asked Wiggins to step out of the vehicle, they observed a firearm on the floorboard near his feet.
Officers immediately noticed Wiggins appeared to be impaired. After conducting a DUI investigation, it was determined that he was under the influence.
