Role models can be positive or negative.

Don’t put a lot of concern into what others think of you.

Leaves and Roses

As I watched the leaves falling in my yard, I noticed how much my roses are blooming.  We cut them back several weeks ago when the leaves and grass where still green and they looked really bad for several weeks after they were pruned. Now, in the midst of everything going dormant, they are thriving!!!  The blooms are vibrant and full of color.

Our lives are like the seasons.  God blesses us with blooms  when we are young and healthy and hopeful and then age and life take a toll on us and we enter the fall of our lives.  But just as the roses find new life after pruning, God must prune us to clear our lives of the foolish, the wasteful, and the sinful things that weigh us down and keep us in the fall of life instead of allowing us to bloom again!  When we are in the middle of pruning, don’t forget it is part of getting new life!!
