Mike “Popeye” Brown
Mike Brown, 72, passed away on September 23, 2026, at his residence. He was born to H.L. Brown and Ella Merle Millis Brown on April 30, 1954, in Jackson, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, H.L. Brown and Ella Merle Millis Brown; sister, Sybil Ann Switzer; and brother-in-law, Curtis Switzer.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Angela Fulf Brown; son, Walter Eric Brown (Amy); daughters, Jennifer Purvis (Greg) and Connie Hunley; brother, Charles Brown (Bonnie); and six grandchildren.

Mike loved being outdoors and doing all things guys love, including deer hunting, fishing, and turkey hunting. Anyone who knew Mike “Popeye” Brown most definitely has a Mike “Popeye” story to tell. He could fill any room he entered with love and laughter.
Mike spent his younger years serving our country in the National Guard. After his service in the National Guard, he worked at Southern Pine Electric Company for many years. Later, he began working for the Simpson County School District, where he retired years later.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS, from 9:00 -11:00 AM, with the service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Rials Creek Cemetery.
