The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) at Copiah-Lincoln Community college is looking for unemployed, low-income individuals ages 55 and older for employment opportunities. The SCSEP employment training program promotes useful, part-time work opportunities in community service activities.
Participants work a maximum of 20 hours per week at either a non-profit or a government agency. Participants take part in training, pursue unsubsidized employment by completing monthly work searches, and attend training seminars. The older workers also will receive on-the-job training to enhance their opportunities in the local job market.
The program fosters individual economic self-sufficiency and independence for senior citizens. The U.S. Department of Labor through Senior Service America, Inc. and Southwest Mississippi Planning & Development District provide program funding.
For more information about how to apply, contact Program Coordinator Anna Rogers at 601.643.8673 or anna.rogers@colin.edu.
