Simpson Central Elementary School Blood Drive

PINOLA, Miss. — Simpson Central Elementary School will be holding a blood drive with Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) on Friday, May 6, from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The MBS Donor Coach will be at the school. All donors will receive a T-shirt; students who recruit an adult (age 16 or older) to give blood will receive a Buddy the Bloodhound Beanie Baby. Donors can now check their total cholesterol on their MBSConnect Account.

Excuses are a dime a dozen: “I’m too busy.” “I don’t like needles.” “Afraid I’ll feel bad afterward.” “Someone else will do it.”

“There are a lot of excuses why people don’t want to give blood,” Susan Ates, MBS public relations specialist, said. “There is one good reason to give: blood donors save lives.”

Donating blood is safe, simple and it saves lives. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parental consent, visit our Web site for a copy of the form), weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid ID.

Visit us at msblood.com or call us at (888) 90-BLOOD (902-5663) for information. Download the free MBS app on your smartphone or tablet and keep up with MBS drives and events in your area. You can also visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/give2live and follow MSbloodservices on Twitter. #Give1Save3.
