“Mize was a really good game that could have gone either way. Mize had a great game plan that they executed very well. It was kind of the tale of 2 games when comparing it to the Mendenhall game. We came out and executed a lot better in the first half that game, compared to this one. We didn’t execute at the level needed to compete with a really good ball club that is that well coached, and it showed. We actually left the ball at the 1 yard line before halftime. We finally grabbed a little momentum late in the 3rd quarter. The field conditions were pretty rough, which added to the challenge. I was proud that our kids played a lot better in the second half. We had a lot of penalties that we have to clean up. This game was a good barometer against a team that will be one of the last 4 standing in 2A.”
