Thursday, I learned there is huge…and I mean huge!…plant located off Siloam Road in Magee. A “Welcome to Magee & Simpson County”gathering was hosted by the Simpson County Development Foundation & the Magee Chamber of Commerce.
Bunches of people were there. I’m just saying, even the Governor came!!! RealPure is a big deal in Magee as well as the state of Mississippi.
RealPure’s water comes from the wells on site that are part of the McNair Springs area; so, you’re drinking Magee, MS water!
I learned the only place in Simpson County that sells RealPure Bottling, Inc water is Martha’s Discount Grocery! Now, tell me why this Magee, MS water is not in every store in Magee! We are sitting on a gold mind. As the governor said, “who would have ever thought you would be paying for water,” but as we know…everyone is buying bottled water! And, friends, we’ve got the “big daddy” of water plants!
The Richmond family of Silver Springs, FL owns the plant. People from Simpson County and the surrounding area work at the plant.
Greg Boykin, one of the top 3 employees at RealPure, took me on a tour of the plant. I was totally amazed! For one thing, I had no idea the plant was so large. I have only seen the plant from the road…and it looked average. RealPure is anything but average.
From a tiny piece of plastic comes a bottle that is filled, labeled, packaged and shipped. 
The plants runs 16 hours 5 days a week (2 eight hour shifts). The big 18 wheelers are loaded and sent all over the south. The gallon jugs began as almost tiny pellets! 
I am going to share some of the in-plant pictures as well as “people” pictures from today’s visit!
After the bottles are “made to size,” they enter a machine that fills and labels the bottles. There are different types of water. The last picture shows the finished product. The machine that wrapped that pallet of water was unreal. I have only shown a small part of the activities in the plant. The 3 picture shows gallon jugs being filled with water, labeled, and moved to the next position.
