It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, brother, Travis McCallum Jr., who left us on November 8th , 2023 at the age of 66 years old.
“Buddy Duck”, as he was fondly called by friends and family, was born on October 10th , 1957, to Travis and Virginia McCallum.
He grew up in Mize where he attended high school and lived there until his untimely passing.
Buddy, a charismatic soul, could fill a room with humor and had the power to turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. He was retired and had many hobbies, including caring for animals and spending time with family and friends. He will by remembered by his great sense of humor and could always put a smile on everyone’s face.
He is survived by his four sisters, Rhonda Sullivan (Prentiss), Elice Strrausser, Rene Jordan (Randy), Melissa McBride (Todd) and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Travis McCallum Sr, mother Mary Virginia Sumrall McCallum, paternal grandparents, Walter Scott McCallum and Mary Alice Hopkins McCallum, maternal grandparents, Onrie and Mae Sumrall, and brother-in-law Dennis Strausser.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11th, 2023, from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 pm at Mize Cemetery. Bro. David McCord will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations by made to a charity of you choice in Buddy’s honor.
Rest in peace, dear brother you will always by in our hearts and memories.
