Ted Ernest Runnels, 62 of Mendenhall, MS passed from this life Sunday, March 23, 2025 at the Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. He was born Friday, September 28, 1962.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall, 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, MS. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Everett Baptist Church in Mendenhall, MS. Burial will follow in Johns Cemetery in Brandon, MS. Bro. Glenn Jennings will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Ted was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and farming. He was a loving father, papaw, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Burnham Runnels; father, Ted V. Runnels; step-mother, Betty J. Runnels; mother, Bobbie Gober Forst; sister, Eva Kate Runnels; and Five infant children.

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Runnels Schultz (Jarod); grandchild, Elissa Schultz; sister, Pam Runnels Osborne (Russell); brother, Jimmy Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Burnham, Greg McDonald, Kirk McWilliams, Gage Barry, Nolan Barry, and James Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Overby.

Special music will be performed by Cindy Jennings.
