Simpson County Academy Lady Cougar head basketball coach Linda Dear was honored for an extraordinary milestone, celebrating 50 years of coaching during a special ceremony attended by former players, current athletes, and members of the SCA community.

The recognition brought together generations of Lady Cougars who have played under Coach Dear, highlighting the lasting impact she has had on the program and on the lives of her players. The evening served as a tribute not only to her success on the court, but also to her dedication to mentoring young athletes and building strong character through sports.

Coach Dear is widely known for her passion for basketball, her commitment to her players, and her deep love for Simpson County Academy. Her influence has extended far beyond wins and losses, shaping the Lady Cougar basketball program and leaving a lasting legacy within the school and community.

Special thanks were extended to Mrs. Allison Shivers, along with Lady Cougar parents and friends, who worked together to organize the celebration and ensure the night was a memorable one for Coach Dear and her supporters.

Over five decades, Coach Dear has set a high standard for excellence in Lady Cougar basketball, and the SCA family expressed its gratitude for her leadership, dedication, and unwavering support of her players and school.
