Will you be ready?

The passage of Scripture selected for today is found in Luke 12:40: “You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him.” We Christians are told by Jesus to be waiting and watching, because not even the angels in Heaven know when He will return to claim us, His children. It will all happen in the twinkling of an eye. Will we be ready? Have we made our preparations? If not, it’s not too late. As the BIBLE tells all who will listen, “Don’t put off salvation too long.” There’s an old gospel song Kitty Wells, former Queen of Country Music, made popular in the 1950s entitled “Matthew 24.” The words to the chorus are these: “We are living, surely living, in the days He speaks about. All of these we now are having every day. Let’s be ready for His coming. Let us meet Him with a shout, for He tells us in His word to watch and pray” The problem is that if one waits until Jesus returns, it will be too late to make that all-important decision. Make your preparations now, for now is the accepted time; the day of salvation is at hand. Amen!
