Scott Varner, 68, died September 6th, 2019 in Birmingham, AL. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
Scott was born and raised in Magee, Mississippi to parents Howard and Royce Varner.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in poultry science from Mississippi Sate University and spent his entire career in the poultry industry in numerous director roles before retiring.
Scott lived in Birmingham, AL near many friends and family.
Scott is survived by his wife Jeanie Wells Varner; his mother Royce Varner; his brother Stanley Varner (Debbie), his sister Susan Davis (Richard); his son Jason Varner (Heather), his daughter Sarah McLemore (Scott), his stepdaughter Jean Marie Banks (Glenn), his stepson Craig Smith; grandchildren Lauren Banks Killelea (Amy), Race Banks (Brooke), Katie Smith, Hayden McLemore, Anthony McLemore, and Andrew Smith; and great-grandsons Glenn IV and Wyatt Banks and Jude and Harris Killelea; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Desi.
Scott was preceded in death by his father Howard Varner.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 13th, 2019 at 2pm at the Episcopal Church of Ascension in Vestavia Hills. Visitation will be at 1pm.
