(November 7, 1941 – July 7, 2023)

                Sandra Williford Walker, 81 of Taylorsville, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was born on Friday, November 7, 1941, in Troy, Alabama.

                Sandra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.  Known as “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they loved and adored her.  She was willing to help anyone that was in need.

                Sandra was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Taylorsville, Mississippi.  She has served as the church Hostess Committee Chairperson, Lydia Sunday School Class as treasurer and FBC WMU Director.

                She was a graduate of Charles Henderson High School in Troy, AL.  She moved to Taylorsville in the late 1970’s.  After moving to Taylorsville, she was the owner and operator of Kelly’s Big Star and Liberty Restaurant.

                Sandra was very active in her community.  She has served in the Green Sprouts Garden Club serving as a past president, Smith County Relay for Life as a Sponsorship Chairman, Taylorsville Chamber of Commerce as a Sponsorship Chairman, previous Smith County Election Commissioner, and numerous fundraising and organizing events throughout Smith County.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

                She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Barton “Bart” Kelly; daughter, Robin Kelly Nabors; son-in-law, David Edward Wagner; father, Horace Edgar Williford, Sr.; mother, Sallie Lou Nix Williford; brothers, George Kirvin Williford, Horace Edgar Williford, Jr., William Charles Williford; and sister, Darcus Ann Williford Sport.

                Survivors include her loving husband of twenty-three years, Friend “Bucky” Walker of Taylorsville, MS;  five children, Beth Benton Herndon (Joe) of Madison, MS, Jennifer Wagner Benton Foreman (Terry) of Brandon, MS, Ronald Walker of Taylorsville, MS, Leigh Ann Walker Leonard (Chris) of Hattiesburg, MS, and Ellen Walker Shoemaker of Taylorsville, MS;  eight grandchildren, Mallory Herndon Ramsey (Jeff) of Fairhope, AL, Anna Herndon Covington (Steven) of Ocean Springs, MS, Katherine Herndon (Kurt Kuluz) of Biloxi, MS, Wesley Wagner (Katharine) of Austin, TX, Jessica Wagner (Steve Lloyd) of Urbana, IL, Andrew Leonard of Hattiesburg, MS, Rachel Shoemaker of Oxford, MS and Noah Shoemaker of Hattiesburg, MS; five great-grandchildren, Benton Ramsey of Fairhope, AL, Camille Ramsey of Fairhope, AL, Anne Carlisle Ramsey of Fairhope, AL, Kendall Covington of Ocean Springs, MS, Laurel Wagner of Austin, TX, and with twin girls on the way; one brother, Henry Clay Williford (Diane) of McKenzie, AL; six sisters, Linda Williford Green of Troy, AL, Sherry Williford Wood of Enterprise, AL, Faye Williford Harp (Bill) of Troy, AL, Kaye Williford Stinson of Troy, AL, Pam Williford Coots of Enterprise, AL and Cindy Williford Whitehead of Troy, AL; and a host of other family members and friends.

                Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 125 Welcome Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi.

                Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Taylorsville, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Dr. Frankie Clark will officiate. Special music will be performed by Mrs. Mary Lou Robertson and Mrs. Mary Barron Jordan.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

                Pallbearers will be Mitch Green, Richie Rhodes, Robert Dale Stringer, Randy Creel, Blaine “Bo” Eaton, and Ray Gerald Lofton.

                Honorary pallbearers will be Lydia Sunday School Class.

                Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Taylorsville, MS, or a charity of your choice.
