The mid-term elections set the stage for a show down on November 27, 2018. Mike Epsy and Cindy Hyde-Smith went tow to tow in Simpson County. Cindy Hyde-Smith won Simpson County by a narrow margin. Epsy: 3,094 or 34.34%. Hyde-Smith: 4562 or 50.66%.

Roger Wicker was declared the state winner early in the night.
