The mid-term elections set the stage for a show down on November 27, 2018. Mike Epsy and Cindy Hyde-Smith went tow to tow in Simpson County. Cindy Hyde-Smith won Simpson County by a narrow margin. Epsy: 3,094 or 34.34%. Hyde-Smith: 4562 or 50.66%.
Roger Wicker was declared the state winner early in the night.
Our county and state saw the larger voter turn out in over 20 years.
The totals are on the attached sheets. These totals include absentee and affidavit ballots.
Judge David Shoemake defeated John Alan Buffinton 4193 to 3796. There is no run-off in this election.
