Ronald D. De Blasio, 79, of Magee, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

 

Born in Queens and raised in Greenport, New York, Ron was a proud graduate of The University of Arizona.  He was an Army veteran who served his country in the intelligence community.  He later worked for the Department of Defense and retired from Michoud, a NASA facility, in New Orleans.

He enjoyed supporting his alma mater and adopted his alma mater, The University of Southern Mississippi, especially during their football seasons.  One of his other favorite pastimes throughout his life was being a ham radio operator.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Magee and was a Gideon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lynda Cole De Blasio, of Magee; sons, Dr. David De Blasio (Katie) of Whispering Pines, North Carolina; and Steven De Blasio (Regina) of Marrero, Louisiana; two grandchildren, John De Blasio and Gianna De Blasio; and mother-in-law, Gussie Cole of Magee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Irene De Blasio, of Greenport, New York; and Christian De Blasio, of Whispering Pines, North Carolina.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Magee, MS. The service will be at 11:00 am with Reverend Tony McDonald officiating.  Interment will follow at Sharon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Magee, 226 First Ave NW Magee, MS 39111.

Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
