Monkeypox Vaccinations

Monkeypox causes a skin rash and blisters MSDH is offering free two-dose monkeypox vaccinations to individuals at highest risk for contracting the disease.

While the number of confirmed cases in the state remain low, they have been gradually increasing, and early preventive steps are important to reduce wider transmission of monkeypox.

High-risk individuals can be vaccinated this Friday at our special event in Jackson, or at any time at selected county health departments around the state.

Vaccination Event in Jackson

This Friday, August 26, eligible high-risk individuals 18 and older can receive monkeypox vaccinations in Jackson. Vaccinations will take place at 350 West Woodrow Wilson, Suite 411, Jackson (across from the Hinds County Health Department in the Jackson Medical Mall). Appointments are preferred (see below), but not required. Walk-ins are welcome. There will be a brief, confidential screening for eligibility for individuals who walk in.
