During the Magee Board of Alderman meeting Tuesday, December 6, 2016, bids were accepted to add artificial turf to the baseball and softball d infields.

Magee  has a state of the art facility.

With the addition of the artificial turf to the infield, the complex will be readily available for use throughout the year for tournament play. Tournaments mean money for the businesses of Magee.

Plans are for the turf  to be installed before ball season.

Artificial turf in the infields will help with rain issues during tournaments. No longer will the rain serve as an issue and delaying of play. Drainage systems will dry the playing area quickly and allow play to continue.

David Dunn is the Park Director for the City of Magee. David along with his staff have done a fabulous job with the complex.

Additional upgrades are planned for the Sportsplex.
