“It’s a God thing!”
Some friends and I were having lunch and we were discussing an acquaintance’s recent decisions. The acquaintance had said about the decision “it’s a God thing!” Have you ever heard someone using God to justify a decision? I have witnessed many people make foolish decisions and tell anyone that questioned the wisdom of that decision that “It’s God’s Will”. Too many times we blame God for our decisions. Decisions are made without any consultation with God, without prayer, without studying His word for guidance.
In Matthew’s gospel, 15:8-9, he is quoting from Isaiah, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, their worship is a farce, for they teach manmade ideas as commands from God”.
Use extreme caution when giving God credit for your decision!!
I
heard my Daddy say in a conversation about marriage and divorce: “People quote: “What God has joined together, let no man put asunder”. The only problem with that is they never consulted God!
God did not join them together!! God had nothing to do with it!” Just as all marriages are not ordained by God, all decisions are not approved or blessed by God!
