The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in 1 John 1-9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” Yes, our God is real, gracious, and forgiving. We, as His children, have a sinful nature which needs purifying. God is the only one who can perform that miraculous act. We can confess our sins directly to Him through prayer, and He is quick to forgive us. We must be sincere in our repentance, however. “Man looketh upon the outward appearance; God looketh upon the heart.” (KJV) He knows our thoughts and our intentions. Let us clear the slate each day by asking God to forgive us of our trespasses, receive cleansing, then go in peace. Amen!
