Gary Clifford Rowell, age 80, of Brandon, MS, passed to his heavenly home on Saturday, June 8, 2024.  Gary was born August 19, 1943, in Meridian, MS, to George Clifford Rowell and Bernice Elizabeth Everett Rowell. He was a 1962 graduate of Collins High School in Collins, MS, and received his AA degree in 1965 from Jones Junior College and later attended the University of Southern Mississippi.

Gary spent his working career in retail sales. He worked with Sears Roebuck and Co. on State Street and then at Metrocenter Mall in Jackson, MS. He also managed the Florsheim Shoe Store at NorthPark Mall for several years, and in December of 1998, Gary, along with his wife Mary, owned and operated the Sears Retail Dealer Store in Magee, MS, until selling the store in 2015.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother, Wayne Everett Rowell, brother-in-law, Bill Miller, and his wife, Jill Miller, brother-in-law, Bobby Miller, and brother-in-law, Jackie Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Miller Rowell, daughter, Gina Rowell Sullivan (Keith), son Clint Rowell (Julie), one grandson, Dalton Sullivan, and one granddaughter, Heather Sullivan. Two brothers, Robert Michael Rowell and George Randall Rowell (Barbara) and one sister, Maribeth Rowell Mooney (Don). Sisters-in-law, Inette Phillips and Jaunice Wilkinson, Norma Miller, Christi Miller, and brother-in-law, Jerry Miller (Debbie) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services are entrusted to Ott and Lee Funeral Home of Brandon, MS. Visitation will be at Crossgates Baptist Church on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 9:30 AM with the service following at 11:30 AM. Burial will be at City of Collins Cemetery in Collins, MS, with a short graveside service at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Children’s of Mississippi Hospital (Blair E. Batson) Jackson, MS.
