George was a proud and willing service member of the U.S. Navy through service during the Korean War, and a recipient of the Korean Medal of Good Conduct. He retired from AT&T after thirty three years of service as both a switchman and lineman. He gave generously to many charities and churches throughout his life. George loved to travel and spend time with his family. He would often take his family on trips to Ouray, Colorado, his favorite place to visit. George shared his late wife’s passion for gardening, a passion he has passed to his great grand-daughters. Though he had Parkinson’s, his spirit was unbreakable.

He was preceded in death by Wife of 59 Years, Cleda Ware, Parents, Howard and Ora Runnels Ware, Brother, Judean Ware, and Sister, Jewel Amason.

Survivors include Daughter, Jan Batson and Husband, Calvin, Grandchildren, Carmen Humphrey and Husband, Ron, Joey Nelms and Wife, Casey, Great-grandchildren, Emmalyn Humphrey and Kaitlyn Humphrey.
