Frydis Meadows Hansbrough, 92, passed away May 1, 2025, in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born on June 21, 1932, to John Franklin Meadows and Lillie Rankin Meadows in Simpson County.
Frydis has lived in Magee, MS, her whole life. She attended Magee High School and then went on to Copiah-Lincoln Community College. After Co-Lin, Frydis attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where she received her Education and Home Economics degree. She met the love of her life, John Hansbrough, while teaching in Holly Bluff, MS.
In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and visiting with her children and grandchildren. Frydis adored all her family and friends. She especially admired her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was proud of each one of them.
Frydis was a lifelong Presbyterian and a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church in Magee, MS. In her younger years, she served on several church committees and was always willing to help.
Frydis is preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Hansbrough; her parents, John Meadows and Lillie Rankin Meadows; her brothers, Ottis Meadows, Edward Meadows, and Frank Meadows; and her sisters, Analene Moore and Lillie Pearl Wadlington.
Frydis is survived by her two sons, Robby Hansbrough (Gisele) and Freddy Hansbrough (Tammy); six granddaughters Casey Struchen (Tommy), Alyssa Gray (Joseph), Lindsey Evans (Nash), Megan Rainey (Bradford), Carley Cockrell (Colby), and Kelley Hansbrough; and nine great-grandchildren along with a host of many nieces, nephews, friends and her church family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS. The service will be on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sharon Presbyterian Church in Magee, MS. Interment will follow in Sharon Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.

    I loved Mrs Hansbrough. I am happy that she lived such a good long life with all the people she loved and loved her. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family.
