City Awards Paving Project to Walters Construction Company

Walters Construction Company Inc. of Laurel was awarded the 2021 Street Improvement Project at the Tuesday night, December 7, 2021 City of Magee board meeting. Walters bid was $272,680.

City engineer Joe Barton Ballard (Bart) who is a registered professional engineer in the State of Mississippi, presented the board with the 3 bids.

W. E. Blain of Mt Olive bid $314,545.00.  Warren & Warren Asphalt Paving LLC of Tylertown bid $322,925.00

The city  budgeted $300,000.00 for the project.

According to Mr. Ballard, the temperature to pour asphalt is 40 degrees and rising.  Hopefully, work can begin the first week of January.  The paving will take approximately two weeks.
