Chandler Pittman makes 13u Perfect Game Series Classic Roster

Chandler is a 13 year old all-around athletic 8th grader at Magee Middle School in Magee, MS. where he plays Junior Varsity Baseball, Basketball and football. He is very active in many organizations at Magee Middle such as Vice-President of his class, Future Business Leader, and BETA Club Chaplin. Chandler also plays center fielder for the 13u Majors Division MAGIC Baseball USSSA team representing Central and South Central Mississippi on the highest level attainable. He was just recently selected to be a on the Football University (FBU) Mississippi Football Team. Chandler had the opportunity to attend a football camp at Oklahoma University in June of this year and ran the fastest 40 yards in his age division being a 4.7. When asked where you got your speed from he looks up with those big eyes and says, “Well my Mom and Dad both ran track in high school and I hear they were pretty fast, so I have to say my parents.”

Chandler Pittman has been identified by Perfect Game Baseball as an elite player in the 13u age group to participate in the 2016 Perfect Game Series Classic in Fort Myers, Florida, July 31st-August 6th. An official invitation was sent on May 4, 2016 to Chandler’s mother; Kathy, which states. “I had to read it several times because I was so excited and could not focus clearly.” I then forwarded it to DeWayne and he didn’t respond quickly enough so I called him. Then he was just as crazy as I was! We finally arrived home around the same time and told Chandler the exciting news. He was so happy! He jumped up and down saying let me read it again. So, yes we all had to be convinced.
This is the 2nd Annual Perfect Game Classic and is a prestigious invitation only tournament designed to create a platform for the top individual baseball players from across the country to compete and be recognized for their talents. Teams will be selected and divided by “territories” based on where the athletes live in the United States, either by state or region. Chandler will be a teammate with the Gulf Coast athletes. Perfect Game is aimed towards the individual this event is intended to be a stage for the best baseball players in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. This event is for age 11u-14u, freshmen and sophomores, giving athletes the opportunity to be treated like college prospects. Each team attending the Perfect Game Classic will be guaranteed 7 games on top of the line fields at Major League Baseball spring training complexes. Profiles will be created for each participant for additional exposure on the world’s biggest amateur website. Chandler will represent his hometown for the first time in Fort Myers, Fla.

Chandler gives credit to some special people in his path such as his parents; Kathy and DeWayne , his Uncle Karell Dampeer; former standout QB for the Magee Trojans, Coaches, friends and mentors; Coach Richard Willock, Coach Lance Hayes, Coach Albert Smith, Coach Frank Hayes, Brian Mills, Kalen Jackson, Montez Chatman, Cortez Chatman, Moonie LeWallen, Coach Lawrence”Peanut” Morris, Chad Alexander, Scott Copeland, Chaucer Funchess, Deon Hodges, Coach Kerry Cooks, Marcus Bass, Sedric Grace, Corey Sims, Betrelle Shelby, Marcus Dupree and all of his Magee Middle School and Junior Varsity Coaches. Chandler states, “I have to be a role model for my little brother, Connor Jackson.” “He watches my every move.” “And I am thankful for my family and friends support.” If you are interested in donating please contact Kathy Pittman @ 601-543-6939.
