Bobbie Jean White passed away on October 19, 2017, at Magee General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 16, 1937, to Roland and Hazel (Sullivan) Darden.
Bobbie was an active member of Maranatha Baptist Church, where she attended every chance she got. She was an alumni of San Jacinto Community College in Pasadena, TX, where she obtained an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Instrumentation in 1988. She spent her working years caring for her children and their families. Her working relationships grew into lifelong friendships that she cherished greatly.
She spent the majority of her adult life as a homemaker in Pasadena, Texas and she moved her home to Mize, MS in 1999, to raise three of her grandchildren.
Nanny was devoted to her family. She was especially partial to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking, working in her yard and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Sammy White (Helen), Beverly White (Jorge Kanoa); grandchildren, James White , Shannon White, Krystal (Clevenger) Adcock (Isaac), Bridgette Northrup (Eric Canterbury), Sharra Northrup (Dalton Sumrall); great-grandchildren, Josiah, Hayley, Justin, Austin, Steven, Jordan; sibling, Debbie Kennedy (David), nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Hazel (Sullivan) Darden; husband, James Earl White; son, Thomas F. White and sister, Vonciel Dickerson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p..m. Services are scheduled for Sunday, October 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church in Mize, MS with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Calvin Price will officiate.
