Mendenhall High School hosted an Academic Celebration at Tiger Field Friday, October 20th, at 9:30 AM.  Dr. Robert Sanders, Mendenhall HS Principal, greeted teachers, students, parents and guest.

The event was held to celebrate the school grade/ratings which were announced by the Department of Education on Thursday.  Mendenhall High School pulled their “D” rating to a “B” rating! When Dr. Sander came to Mendenhall High School in 2014, his goal was to promote the growth of the school. His motto is:  “Don’t just be…… BE THE BEST!” The Mendenhall football pep rally was incorporated into the celebration.

Students who scored advanced or proficient carried the banner.  These same students were recognized during the program.

Dr. Sanders is dynamite!  He is on fire for the students and teachers.  Everyone at Mendenhall High School worked hard for a “B” rating…as Mr. Sanders pointed out, “one person just didn’t do this…it took every student, every teacher, every parent, every office worker, every school board member,  and everyone in Mendenhall to achieve this goal.”

Mendenhall High School’s Tiger Pride Band performed.  If you have not seen their band this year, they are awesome.  There is a reason the band is called “Tiger Pride.”  Mendenhall Band scored all 1’s at State Competition earning the right to be an all Superior Band.

Congratulations to Mendenhall High School.
