Bette Chain Leonard (April 23, 1931 – May 12, 2017)
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Mount Olive Presbyterian Church for Bette Chain Leonard, 86 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Covington County Hospital in Collins. Reverend Joe Gardner will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Oakvale Cemetery in Mount Olive. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
Pallbearers will be Charles Powell, Bill Powell, John Powell, Robert Sartin, Greg Fort, and Randy Almaguer.
Mrs. Leonard was born on April 23, 1931 in Magee, Mississippi. She retired from the Mount Olive Bank as a loan officer after forty two years of service. Mrs. Leonard was a member of the Mount Olive Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.E. and Ora McQueen Chain; and her husband, Carl H. “Doc” Leonard.
Survivors include one daughter, Cathy Ann Leonard of Houston, Texas; one son, Mark Leonard and his wife, Patti of Mount Olive; one sister, Ann Chain Powell of Mount Olive; three grandchildren, Josh Beall, Morgan Leonard, and Ben Leonard; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
