Argyle Kent Gilliam passed away Thursday February 19, 2015.
He was born November 19, 1933 in Jackson, MS.
Kent loved working in his yard, woodworking, and dabbling at cooking his famous biscuits. He was a Deacon and until his health declined a very active member of D’lo Baptist Church. He was a veteran of The Korean War.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, A. C. Gilliam and Mary Gilliam Cooper; Siblings:
Dot and Bob Knott (Yazoo City), Sue and Homer Bufkin (Hazlehurst) and grandson Austin Smith.
Kent is survived by his wife of 60 years and one day, Pat Walker Gilliam. Sisters, Sarah Warren of Mendenhall and Elaine and Billy Sanders of Mountain View, AR. His children Dwayne and Marilyn Gilliam, Southaven; Dianne and Jim McWilliams, D’lo and Polly and Tommy Myrick, College Station,TX; Grandchildren: Cheyenne Gilliam, Southaven; Christopher Silverman, Starkville; Courtny and Tyler Ortmann, New Braunfels, TX; and Joshua Myrick, Nacogdoches, TX and one Great Grandchild: Presleigh Ortmann
Funeral services will be held on Sunday February 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Colonial Chapel with Bro. Robert Sones officiating. Internment will be at D’lo Cemetery following the service.
