Jimmy Dale Russell, 77 of Mendenhall, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, Mississippi. He was born on Thursday, September 20, 1945, in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Rials Creek Cemetery in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Bro. Charles Meadows will officiate. Special music will be performed by Hunter May. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401
Mr. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, granddaddy, son, and friend. He loved watching the car races, communicating on the Ham Radio, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Cliburn Russell; and his parents, W.D. and Gladys Axton Russell.
Survivors include his son, Aubrey Dale Russell (Kim) of D Lo, MS; two granddaughters, Ashtin Russell Rawls of Mendenhall, MS and Taylor Russell Girgenti (Tyler) of Pleasant View, TN; four great-grandchildren, Keatin Whatley of Mendenhall, MS, Dusty Rawls of Mendenhall, MS, Axton Rawls of Mendenhall, MS and Pyper Girgenti of Pleasant View, TN; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Keatin Whatley, Logan Sparks, Jeff Jennings, Cody Bairfield, Hayden Craft, and Ryan Curlee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Jennings, John Earl Bowen, Dusty Rawls, and Axton Rawls.
