Worry and Fear!

Do you worry about your health? Your family? Your finances?  Do you know someone who lives a life consumed by fear of the unknown? Do you have any idea how many blessings we are missing by living our life full of fear?   Worry and fear steals our strength, distracts us, and makes us vulnerable to emotional and physical attacks. Worry steals our joy, Fear holds us captive to the “what Ifs” of the world, making us miserable people that no one wants be around for any length of time.

Have you met many pessimists? The people who always see the glass half empty instead of half full are unhappy, they are never satisfied with life, they are always envious of how great things look in other lives and overlook the blessings in their own life. They don’t really enjoy anything!!

Role models can be positive or negative.

Don’t put a lot of concern into what others think of you.

March 31, 2026

Maybe worries are consuming your life. Maybe you are weary and tired of constantly fretting about tomorrow and you’re missing the joy and beauty of today! God never intended for any of us to live unhappy, miserable lives. One of Daddy’s favorite hymns was “Just as I Am”. That old hymn tells us that is the way Jesus invites us to come to Him. There is no 12 step program, no life style change, no resolution that can change our hearts and attitudes like turning everything over to the Master of the Wind. We can’t fix ourselves, but our Creator can bless us with peace that “surpasses all understanding”. I know many people who have suffered unspeakable tragedy and yet have a peace that is evident in their lives. It is a gift available to all who are willing to let go and let God truly rule in their lives.

Corrie Ten Boom: “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength”

Max Lucado: “No one can pray and worry at the same time.”

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27, NKJV)

“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1-2, NKJV)

“And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Luke 12:25, NKJV)
