Weather conditions are going to struggle today leading into Monday! Roads and bridges are expected to ice and cause hazardous conditions. Temperatures are expected to drop in the low teens and windchills in the single digits.

As the state of Mississippi and surrounding areas prepare for the winter blast that is in store here are some precautions to take:

  • Do not travel if you do not have to. Bridges and roads can ice in these conditions.
  • If you must travel have blankets and safety supplies in vehicle.
  • If you own a generator have them ready to use and extra fuel available.
  • Check on elderly neighbors and bring pets inside.
  • Charge your cell phone and back up batteries.
  • Make sure outside faucets and pipes are covered. Keep a drip going inside and leave cabinets open to circulate air.
  • Have extra bottled water on hand.

Pray for all the ones that will have to be out working during these extreme conditions.
