Friday, May 13, 2016, at 11:30 AM, crowds gathered and the ribbon was cut…signaling the official opening of Cattail Creek, Main Street has a new business!
The Chamber of Commerce President Chris Purdum officially welcomed everyone and expressed happiness in seeing another building on Main Street take root….the only thing about this building…it has deep roots! Build in 1959 as State Guaranty Bank and later known as Trustmark Bank, the space has sat vacant for several years now. When I learned Nona and Jean-Philippe Cook had purchased this prize piece of real-estate I was elated!
Cattail Creek is located at the corner of Main Street (technically Main Avenue) and Choctaw Street. Choctaw Street is the dividing street in town between north and south…..this has to be a sign….only good things can happen here!
Nona, Jean-Philippe, Jean-Philippe II, Hanna, John Connor, Barbara and Mickey have put hours upon hours and labor upon labor to see Nona’s dream come true. (Nona is the daughter of Barbara and Mickey Westmoland)…and Cattail Creek looks like a dream…who would ever have believed a 1959 building could look so awesome! This is one talented family!!!
Take time to visit a Magee merchant…we need to support our own!
Another neat little info about today’s event! Hanna Lester is the new Magee’s Miss Hopsitality….and this is her first ribbon cutting to attend…and how awesome that the first cutting should be at her mother’s new business!!!
