Washing Park was voted by the Board of Alderman Tuesday, July 21, 2020 to be renamed!

The park was recently acquired in a trade off with Simpson County School District.

The School Board voted to transfer the title of the property to the City of Magee in exchanged for Magee High School baseball and softball to play sports at the city complex at no charge.

The park will be named the Marvin Jackson Park.

The named was arrived due to the community participation Mr. Jackson contributed in years pass with the youth of the community.

The city is investing work in the park and basketball courts are being added.

A ceremony will be held at a later date.
