Kayla Marie Griffith, a beacon of love and joy, returned to her heavenly home on January 19, 2026, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Born on August 11, 1987, in Jackson, MS, she lived a vibrant life filled with compassion, laughter, and unwavering faith. Kayla’s sudden departure leaves a legacy of kindness that will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched.

Kayla’s journey began as the beloved daughter of Eric and Jean Bankston Craft, who instilled in her the values of love and service that would define her life. She adored her precious daughter, Maggie Griffith. Her infectious laughter and generous spirit were a gift to her cherished partner, Jon Eubanks and his son, Holden. They were all the pride and joy of her life. Kayla’s bond with her sister and best friend, Wendy Bairfield, was unbreakable, and together, they shared countless memories that will continue to bring comfort and smiles to all who remember them.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Zelda Anderson Bankston and paternal grandparents, L. James and Irene Ware Craft along with her uncle, Kirby Craft (Debra).

Blessed with a loving family, Kayla was a treasured niece to Jenelle Blackwell (Robbie), Valerie Amason (Greg), and Dana Hall (Tim), and a cherished cousin to Megan Blackwell (Charlie), Andrew Amason, Luke Amason, Nathan Craft (Emily), Justin Craft (Montana), Jacob Hall, Natalee Hall, Kirby Ashley Craft (Leslie Ann), and Suzanne Jamison (Joey). Her uncle, Steve Craft (Myra Jean), along with many other loving family members and friends, will deeply miss Kayla’s radiant presence.

Her commitment to her Christian faith was evident in her daily life and in the way she cared for others, both in her personal and professional life.

Kayla’s passion for nurturing and healing led her to pursue a career in nursing. She attended school with determination and grace, earning her RN degree, which she utilized to make a positive impact on countless lives. Her work was not just a job but a calling, one that she fulfilled with excellence and empathy.

Beyond her professional achievements, Kayla’s interests were as diverse as they were delightful. She had a talent for sourdough baking, a pastime that brought warmth and deliciousness to many gatherings. Her adventurous spirit was fulfilled through cruising the open seas and exploring new horizons. Kayla found peace in the tranquility of her garden, tending to plants with the same care she gave to people. Her love for animals was pure and unwavering, as she provided a loving home to many furry friends over the years.

An outdoor enthusiast, Kayla relished in the beauty of nature, whether it was hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the great outdoors. Music filled her soul, and her singing brought joy to those around her. Family time was sacred to Kayla, and she reveled in watching her daughter Maggie play volleyball, cherishing every moment on the sidelines.

Kayla’s life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and humor. She lived with an open heart, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. Her ability to light up a room was unmatched, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

As we bid farewell to Kayla Marie Griffith, we are reminded of the words of Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Kayla’s light shone brightly on this earth, and now it shines even more brilliantly as she rests in the arms of her Savior. We take solace in knowing that we will be reunited with her one day in the presence of our Lord. Until then, we will hold her memory close and live out the love she exemplified every day.
