Magee gets two huge wins at Lawrence Co tournament Thursday, March 14, 2019.
Game one Magee beat McComb 13-4. Every starter in the lineup had at least one hit. Multiple hits were by Brennon McNair who had a triple, Zack Teater who had a double, and Caleb Brown who had a triple and a solo homerun.
Mason Booth would get the win pitching 4 shutout innings and striking out 5 batters after Chandler Pittman started the game.
Game two of the day Magee would beat defending 5A State Champion Hattiesburg 12-5. After a shaky start defensively with errors and giving up 4 runs early, Magee answered back with 3 runs in the bottom of first.
Magee had a huge 2 inning when Zack Teater, Chandler Pittman and Timon Kennedy had singles before Caleb Brown would hit a Grandslam HR over right-center field. Magee would have another big inning in the 3rd when they would score 5 more runs.
Multiple hitters for the game were Timon Kennedy with a double, Caleb Brown who had the HR, and Zack Teater. Luke West would get the win pitching the complete game.
Magee is now 7-3 on the year and will play at Taylorsville Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 12&2 JV/V, weather permitting. Hopefully the bats will stay hot as Magee heads into district play next week against Raleigh.
“When we are focused and zoned in, we are a very good team” per Coach Coach Eubanks. “The last three games the intensity has picked up and we have been playing very aggressive, especially at the plate hitting. Thanks to all who traveled to cheer us on this week.”
