Teachers from the Philippines???

I wish I could say what I am going to tell you is Street Talk…but I’ve found out this is the truth.

Last week, Glenn Harris and Debbie Davis went to Magee Elementary and prepared (supplies and decorated) several classrooms in preparation for the arrival of new teachers…the deal is…the teachers are from the Philippines!
Years ago, teachers were allotted a small amount of money to upgrade their classroom including supplies—–no longer—-all they get now is a tax deduction of $200 on their income tax.

How can we “fix” a room for the foreign teachers but cannot assist our everyday tax paying American citizen teachers…just saying.

What is going on????   Did we not have enough application from teachers educated in the United States….even surrounding areas?

Did we have a job fair?  I can’t remember.

 

**** was just informed each teacher will receive $391 ….they are not sure when they will receive

*****Attendance is down…from over 900 to a little over 600 in Magee Elementary
