Thursday morning, I received a message that made me almost cry.  Someone in our city shared an experience with the garbage men…and the event was positive.

As any city, our city has problems.  But, I can promise you this…we are trying.  I’m so sorry for the water workers—this week has been rough.  Do we tell them

thank you or just fuss about the color and pressure of our water?

If you see anyone working with the city who is doing a good job, give them a “thank you.”  We all need to feel appreciated!

Below is what the lady sent:

I just want you to know that whoever is driving the garbage truck over here in Eastside today deserves a heap of praise and gratitude for the job he is doing. I have two trash cans even though I usually only have one trash bag to put out at each pickup. Folks who walk past my house tend to put their random trash in my second can for some reason and the trash folks typically don’t empty it since its not bagged which is understandable (I’m not complaining). Once in a while, the inmates will turn that can upside down and leave all that random trash in my front yard. Last time that happened, I was in FL visiting my folks and that trash was blown all over our street by the time I returned LOL But today, the driver got out, saw some loose trash in that can and took the time to empty it into the garbage truck before he flipped it upside down! It’s the little things that make such a difference and I’m grateful for it Hope you have a lovely day!
