Simpson County Board of Supervisors met Monday, June 13, 2022.

The supervisors asked the Justice Court Judges and County Prosecutor to attend the meeting to discuss a dog ordinance the board was entertaining.  Both Judge Charles Savell and Judge Ted Blakeney agreed they would enforce the law and listen to the circumstances concerning any dog issues that comes before them in court. Simpson County Board Attorney Danny Welch is working on a solution that would abide by the law and benefit the public with dangerous and nuisance dogs. Sheriff Paul Mullins advised there would be an expense to prep sites for the dogs to be housed. Pens with concrete pads and fencing would have to be constructed. The board is still gathering information before issuing an ordinance.

Road Manger Ben Warren advised the board all hot mix had been completed. The county department was ready to start the rock and tar projects this week.
