The Scriptural passage for today is found in Romans 14:19: “Let us, therefore, make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.” This verse was written to early Christians by the apostle Paul, who was divinely inspired to encourage church members to follow the example Christ set for His disciples during His earthly ministry. They were to strive to be peace-makers and do nothing to foster strife or contention among their brothers and sisters. In addition, they were asked to purpose in their hearts to teach and edify one another and never sow discord. We are to do likewise today: work diligently for the Lord, follow Christ’s example, and build up, rather than tear down and destroy. Amen!
