The passage selected for today is found in 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” Are you an encourager? To me, it’s one of the greatest plaudits a person can be afforded. As Christians, we are to build up, encourage, and support, especially our fellow members. The congregations of the early churches were admonished by the elders and apostles to encourage those within the fold, particularly the young among them. Let us go about this busiest of seasons by offering our gift of encouragement to all those with whom we come in contact. Lift up the fallen, the disheartened, the downtrodden, and the discouraged. Let us remember that we have that awesome power to do that through the Holy Spirit. Amen!
